With a pinch of common sense
No spam or selling stuff Even if the stuff you are selling is really, really cool. We will block persistent offenders. Also creating a profile just to advertise something makes us sad. Join in the discussion!
Don't use hate speech Just no.
Don't break the law If its forbidden, don't do it. If you think it shouldn't be illegal, campaign to change the law.
Don't break copyright If it belongs to someone else, ask their permission first
Don't forget the children This is a public space, and the internet has no watershed. Pretend the youngest and oldest members of your family are reading your comments. Hopefully, they are anyway.
Things we'd love you to do
Get involved Find the community for you. If there isn't one, contact us and we'll tell you how to get them to sign up!
Spread the word Invite your friends and give others the opportunity to get involved – tell them it's going on!
Treat others with respect Love thy neighbour might be a bit ambitious, but listen to what they have to say. Don't be afraid to speak your mind, but speak it in a way that other people won't feel threatened or intimidated by.
Stay on topic We like things to make sense. Please try and stay on topic within discussions. If something else occurs to you, but perhaps isn’t directly relevant, why not start another thread? For personal chat head to their profile and a leave a comment.
Tell us what you think We are always looking for feedback and suggestions - We have lots of energy for making changes and making things better on the site, so please let us know and we will act on it! If you can think of great ways and interesting things (or, perhaps, boring things..) that you would like to use izwe for, get in touch - email ideas_at_izwe.com
